Walk into any interview prepared
A media interview is a short window with no second take. Handled well, it builds credibility you cannot buy. Handled poorly, one awkward answer follows you around for years.
Our media training is done by people who actually conducted interviews for a living. Shannon Newth spent 14 years as a Montana Television Network anchor and reporter. Jason Laird spent more than a decade in broadcast television and radio. You practice with the people who used to ask the questions.
Practice under real conditions
Reading tips about interviews doesn't prepare anyone for a camera and a deadline. We run realistic practice interviews, on camera when useful, and review them with you honestly. You learn to bridge back to your message, handle the question you hoped nobody would ask, and stay composed on the record.
For executives and experts, not just spokespeople
The person reporters want is usually the one who knows the subject, not the one with media experience. We prepare subject-matter experts, executives, and board members to represent their organization clearly and confidently, whether the story is friendly or not.
What training can include
- On-camera practice interviews with honest review
- Message and sound-bite development
- Handling hostile or off-topic questions
- Print, radio, TV, and podcast formats
- Group workshops or one-on-one coaching
Common questions
Who leads the training?
An owner, every time. Shannon Newth or Jason Laird runs each session personally. Nothing is handed off to junior staff.
Do you train teams or only individuals?
Both. We coach individual executives one-on-one and run workshops for leadership teams, boards, and staff who may speak for the organization.
Can training happen outside Montana?
Yes. We deliver training across the country, in person and remote. Past engagements include national events and industry associations.
